Auction Details
Premium (Donation/Benefit) Auction dedicated to raising funds for Barton County 4H Members. Funds will go directly to the Kids with partial funds being withheld for 4H Board Funding. Be Generous! The Sale of Champions 4-H Auction is dedicated to raising funds for the Barton County 4-H Members. The funds will go directly to the Kids with a percentage going to the 4-H Livestock committee for the enhancement of education and leaning materials as they deem necessary.
How does the Livestock Sale Work? The Sale of Champions is a unique way of supporting the 4-H youth of Barton County. The Sale of Champions is an auction where buyers actually bid on the 4-H member’s beef, sheep, swine, rabbits, and poultry projects. The animals are auctioned off. Each livestock exhibitor is allowed to sell one animal through the auction. Sale order is determined by how the animals placed during the Fair’s livestock shows earlier in the week. The big question people ask is “What am I going to do with an animal once I buy it?” Prior to the sale, floor buyers set the base price for each species of livestock. The floor prices represent the value of the livestock on the open market. This year the buyer will pay only the premium. All of the livestock that goes through the Sale of Champions will be sold to the floor. Sorry, this year there will not be a custom option to keep the animal and process locally. Once the online auction as completed, you will receive an email with your invoice and instructions on where to send your check.
