Lot 1.  Civil War & Indian Grouping:
  1. CDV Gen. John Pope (1822-1892 Comdr. Army of the Potomac, 1862, put down Sioux Indian revolt by hanging 38 of their leaders. It is the largest mass execution in US history; after the Civil War he Campaigned against Indians in the West, retired 1886.
  2. CDV Gen. Sherman (1820-1875). Fought in Mexican war in 1845, was banker; real estate agent in Kansas; taught in Louisiana Mil. School; Pres. St. Louis street car co.; Comdr. Army of the Tenn. 1863-65. Famous for his March to the Sea; Gen-in-Chief of Army 1869.
  3. CDV Gen. Fremont (1813-1890), known as "Path Finder". 1840's led expedition across Rocky Mts. With Kit Carson, fought to win Calif. From Mexico, 1862 Comdr. Of Mountain Dept., Calif. Rancher, Gov. Ariz. Terr.
Lot 2.  Saloon Grouping: a.Two Letterheads from the Montana "Choteau House" which was a hotel with attached bar & livery stable.  June 2, 1894 letter to wholesale liquor dealer ordering 10 cases of beer.  Signed by owner of hotel.  Comes with July 13, 1894 letterhead ordering 2 or 3 cases of beer.  Signed.  Comes with info on the hotel and bar.
  1. Large cabinet card photo, c. early 1900s, location unknown, shows men in saloon, 8x10 including card mount.
  2. Set of 4 real photo postcards of saloon with men in front, postmarked 1910; Men & women drink beer at bar, postmarked 1917, "Depot Saloon", Castella, Calif., horse & wagon in front, unused, c.1910; and saloon interior, unused, made before 1907 (has undivided back).
  3. C. Tyman of Salinas, Calif. Token. Operated several saloons, hotel & dry goods store. Made in San Francisco.
Lot 3.  Sheriff letterhead about receipt of check, signed by Under-Sheriff, Feb. 1896, Choteau, Montana. Lot 4.  Ranch Grouping:
  1. Small Cabinet Card Photo of Cowboy with Pack Mule, 5x4 including card mount, c.1900's
  2. Cabinet Card of Family by Pole Corral & Wagon. Wrote on back "Chas. Ydren pioneered the San Luis Valley, Colo. In 1800s". 5x4
  3. Cabinet Card Photo of Home Stead Family. Cowboy in Background with Sombero is holding up a beer, c. 1900, 10x8.
  4. Land deed, Middleton Ranch Co. Selling some town lots in Wainwright, Creek Nation, Indian Territory, dated 1905, signed by D.H. Middleton, Early Okla. Terr. Document. Middleton operated one of the largest cattle ranches in East Okla. Has rare Middleton Ranch 1902 Blind Stamp Seal.
Lot 5.  Armed Cowboy Grouping:
  1. Small cabinet card photo of cowboy by his horse, wears a holstered revolver, 4 3/4 x 3 3/4, c.1890s
  2. Large cabinet card of 2 armed cowboys with 2 ladies on side saddles, photo by Prof. May of San Jacinto, Calif., 8 1/2 x 5 1/8, c.1890s
Lot 6.  Stage Coach Grouping:
  1. Stereo view real photo, flat mount (easy to frame), by Amer. Views, "Summit of Beaver Hill" by No. Pacific R.R., c.1890s
  2. Cabinet card photo of Mud Wagon (or Cab) used to take people to & from train depots. Man stepping out of wagon holds rifle in his hand. 6 1/2 x 5 1/2, c. 1890s.
  3. Virginia City & Red Bluff Montana Stage Co., way bill dated 1898, lists passengers & packages, signed by driver. Unfolds to 11 x 17

RAILROAD COLLECTIBLES (COLLECTION OF MICHAEL INGENTHRON, 38-YEARS ON R.R.; JOHN INGENTHRON, 42-YEARS ON R.R.)  MERGER DENIED The Merger of Santa Fee R.R. and the Southern Pacific R.R. was Denied by the Government.  Anything pertaining to this Merger was to be Destroyed.  Locomotives Were Painted with the New Logo and had to be Repainted.  Millions of Pieces of Paper with the New Letterhead had to be Scrapped.  All References to the Merger were to be Destroyed.  There is One Pin in the Collection that has Survived.   "Q" QUALITY PROGRAM ABANDONED A Quality Program was initiated and Promoted across the Santa Fe R.R. and the Symbol "Q" was to be used to Designate Reference to this Program.  A Lawsuit was brought by Quaker Oats for Trademark Infringement and the Santa Fe Lost the Judgement.  Any Reference to "Q" was to be purged from the Railroad (Cost the Santa Fe Millions of Dollars.)  Anything in Collection with "Q" has now become Rare.
